When i first heard the promises i was so disapointed, i thought ' is that all i'm staying sober for, where's all the open top sports cars full of topless models and the casino's?'

Boy was i sick in the head when i first came to AA!

I kind of miss going to the crowded AA clubhouses where the 90 day wonders would get up and say something like:

"Sobriety has been good for me! I've got 90 days today and I got my wife back, my family back, they promoted me to CEO of my own company, and gave me a six figure raise -- I just bought an airplane, a new sports car, and I got all my old girlfriends back -- plus some new ones! I was going to lots of meetings but now that I'm on solid ground again and my life is back better than ever -- and I'm so busy with my new life, I'll have to cut back on all the meetings I've been going to." LOL.

Yup,

Just heard my good fellowship friend has just got engaged to be married to his third AA wife. The other two drove him into the psychiatric ward after several failed suicide attempts when they spilt up but this new one, with less than 8 months soberiety compared to his 10 years plus, is going to be different?

I'll certainly be praying for him tonight.
