This Day in History
On this day in 1935, a New York stock broker was having a great deal of problem with his drinking, and now was being sent to a small town in Ohio to close a business deal.
He hoped he could find someone to work with, thereby insuring his own sobriety. The town turned out to be Chillicothe, Ohio, unfortunately, and there was no one there who wanted to stay sober for even five minutes!
As a consequence, the stock broker eventually became a freak in the circus, and was last seen biting off chicken’s heads in Rapip City, South Dakota, for beer.
Just another example of “seconds and inches.â€
