Hello, My name is Laura and today is my first day of contunious sobriety. Been in and out of AA for almost a year, but never worked the steps or did what I was suppose to. I am completely defeated now and am READY and WILLING to turn my will over. I was sooo happy to find this site. I think it will be a great tool to assist in my recovery. Hey Laura, this site was also indespensable for me and gave me another forum for good contact and good advice. I am 390 days clean and sober but my first AA meeting was 18 years ago. This time I came in and got a new sponsor and dug into the steps. Though I thought I was completly willing I did find I had to be even more willing to at least try some of my sponsors suggestions that I felt I new better about.

Obviously in and out for 18 years shows you that I am pretty hard headed. This time I worked through the steps fairly rappidly and with good success and then continued to apply the principles to the best of my ability on a daily bases. Somehow the world has changed or maybe it's just me

Hi Laura and welcome to sobriety!

I am always so happy to see new women join AA who are truly ready and willing.

It wasn't till I jumped into AA with both feet that I saw how UNready and UNwilling I was!

But it didn't matter! What matters is to DO IT.

I found a sponsor, took the 12 steps just as they are in the big book, didn't drink, reached out to others and helped when I could, and continually stand in awe at the transformation of my life.

And I have a heck of a lot of fun too! Fun that I can remember!

SO glad to have you here! Tell us all about your one-day-at-a-times.
