Hello, my name is Melody, recovering alcoholic. I have 63 days of sobriety today. I found this site by accident looking for guidence, on google, about sponsors & sponsee guides. I am really anxious, confused & maybe expecting to much too soon. I found a question submitted by a fellow aa member wanting to take on a sponsee while he was in his 8th month of sobriety & hadn't done all the steps either. His story intrigued me ... but the responses & his banterring back & fourth brought me right out of my depression!! Wow, always more to be revealed. So I cruzed in here a bit & realized I'de be a fool not to see that this is a part of his plan for me... Thank-you for all of your imput. I am so willing to do what ever it takes. I want what you've got. Most of you anyway Sincerely Melody

Great attitude Melody,
You'll do for me, welcome to the site.
AA allowed me to move from a position of fear to one of excitement about life.
And i'm sure it can do the same for you.
God Bless
John

Hey Dallas. Came across your Youtube video with Chuck C. uploaded back on Sep 22, 2011, and followed the link to your board. It always amazes me when I hear the old school A.A. guys. So many have passed away and when you get the opportunity to hear from guys that were followers of Jesus, it truly is a blessing. I still remember going to Akron for the 50th anniversary of A.A. back in '85 and visiting Dr. Bob's house. The guy inside who greeted folks, showed us around, and took us upstairs and showed us Dr. Bob's bedroom. I still remember him saying "...yep, that there (pointing to side of the bed) is where Dr. Bob would kneel down with every new pigeon, and lead them in a sinners prayer...." That was a year before I became a believer, and I never forgot the impact that had on me.
I'm glad you have this website, and I'll check in from time to time.

Welcome to the forum, Mark! I love listening to those old-timers talks that tell us what AA was like when they started. You guys up in Philly have a great conference coming up in a few months. My sponsor will be one of the speakers. Sure wish I could be there, I'm sure it's going to be great! Dallas

Hi there. I'm John I'm alcoholic. My sobriety date is 9 October 1998. I thought I'd check this out and keep my mind open. I spent many years in demented sobriety, a prey to misery and depression. Today it's different, today I am convinced that it is self that defeated me. All is well . John
