Introduce yourself or read introductions from others!
by amy m » Mon Nov 05, 2007 2:01 pm
To all,
I just found this page and I am excited to learn more about others trudging the road to happy destiny. I am from SW Iowa. I have a DOS of 11-04-1998 and for that I am humbled and greatful. I attend meetings in my home town as a home group, have a great sponsor, work with others and I really love alcoholics anonymous. I am blessed to have may old timers in my home group, many with 25 to 40 years of sobriety. They are so awesome to learn from.
Glad to have found you and I will look around to get to know you better.
Today is a great day to be sober!
Peace
A

Hello Amy!!!! Welcome to Step12.com!!!! Glad to have you hear with us. And, thank you, for introducing yourself! I'm looking in anticipation to hear more from you!
I noticed you're from Iowa! Do you know Big Ed M., from Davenport?
I was just now listening to a talk he gave at the 49th Annual Florida State Convention!!! As always, Big Ed is a great speaker, and a great guy! (He's my brother in sobriety -- so, naturally I've got to brad about Ed... and, he really does deserve it)!
They must have some pretty great A.A. up in Iowa! Thanks for being here to share some of it with us!

Sorry Dallas, I don't think I know your friend. Again, I am pretty good at faces and not so good at names. Thank you for the reply. I am glad to get to know you.

Big Ed, is 6' 10" and I promise you -- that when you do meet him, see him, or hear him, you'll never forget him!
It's good to see you and hear from you Amy! Thanks for checking in and thanks for your participation in the forum! It's kind of like a meeting -- it's always more fun when everyone shares and participates.
I'm glad to get to know you, also.

Hi Amy,
Welcome, and glad to have you here! Congratulations on your 9 years!!
I'm fortunate too in that my home group is in my home town - I can walk there when the weather's nice (I said "can", not "do" - LOL! ).
Looking forward to hearing more from you!!
Anne

Thanks to all. I love AA and I have a strong passion to stay sober just for today. I am glad there is a forum we can see our similarities and ignore our differences.
Peace,
A
