I went to my first A.A. out of cuirosity! Imagine that.
Me; a guy who beat women & men.
Me; who drank and nobody could stop him.
Me; who was so insecure.
Me; who drove drunk.
Me; who belongs in prison for the rest of his sad life.
Me; who was divorced (3) three times and married the (4) !
Me; who left (2) two children.
Yeah, ME! ME! DAMN IT'S ALWAYS ME
So there I was at my second A.A.meeting sitting in the back of the room.
Scared somewhat ('cause I'm a tough guy) Yeah right. As least at the time I though I was ~ GOD showed me different.
And I sat there not knowing what the heck was going on or what was said.
I happened to look up at these shades and looked at the FIRST STEP.
" . . . powerless over alcohol and that our lives had become unmanageable."
BANG!!! That statement hit me square on the jaw and I felt like I was raising 10ft. off my chair.
I said to myself, " I'M A ALCOHOLIC "
And it was and still is: ONE HELLVA' RIDE THIS A.A. PROGRAM.
With GOD in one hand and A.A. in the other and of course the MIGHTLY GRACE OF JESUS i'm in my 32nd. year of sobriety. THANK YOU GOD!!!!
Now that's UNBELEIVABLE. WHAT A MIRACLE. That my HIGHER POWER JESUS CHRIST should ' ALLOW ME TO BE SOBER TILL THIS DAY '
THANK YOU GOD ALMIGHTY.
Do I still have problems (only the ones I make myself)
Its ALWAYS ME THAT MAKES 'EM.
Without GOD'S guidance in my life and the rooms of A.A.
I'M A DEAD MAN
That's my short story and I'm sticking too it.
GOD BLESS YOU ALL
