Where is everybody?

Postby Tim » Tue Nov 18, 2008 3:58 pm

I noticed that there are over 1000 registered users on this site. Where are they? It's puzzling why people register to post messages, then don't post, or post a few times, then disappear?

Maybe it's like AA, where people come and go or change the meetings they attend. Oh well, just curious.

Thanks for bring up what's puzzled me as well!

I recall Dallas saying some people get mad & go to other sites.
I think this place is the real deal & those who don't want that, go to chattier, racier places. (sordid places?)

He also said some people are shy. But what better place to be anonymous than online?

Come on in - the water's fine!

We are alcoholics, all at different places on the journey, & I think we all have something to give and receive from each other.

Please don't deny me your experience, strength & hope!

Thank you.

Maybe... they're like I was when I was very new in AA.

It was tough enough to show up at the meeting...

And, really hard for me to raise my hand or participate.

Or... maybe some are like I was...

When I couldn't stop drinking...

But I was trying to go to meetings hoping to get sober.

When I could finally find the meeting and get there on time...

I was too drunk to remember where the meeting was!

I sure wouldn't want to reply that scenario in my life!

Sometimes, I've seen some folks sign up and not post anything for a year or two... and then suddenly... they come alive!

Happy Holidays Dallas, and everyone else...

the twelve steps have given me a life...

a life of new experiences...

never enough time now, before, i couldn't wait for the day to be over, and dreaded a start to a new one...

as i was taught, never forget your roots, and Dallas and the Step 12 gang are my roots!

May God bless you and keep you -- until then.

ps, i will try not to do drivebys anymore!
