A substitute for alcohol... What is it?

A NEW LIFE

Yes, there is a substitute and it is vastly more than that.
It is a fellowship in Alcoholics Anonymous . . . .
Life will mean something at last.

Hello Dionne,

Call this number:

AKRON , OHIO
Akron AA Intergroup Council
775 N Main
Akron , OH - Telephone: (330) 253-8181

Let them know you are on day #2, and that you want and need some help to make it to day #3.

By getting to day #2, that means you can get a few more hours at least.

Make yourself a promise that you won't have even one drink for today, and call the number I gave you. Call them now because someone will answer the phone and they will be waiting for your call.

We care about you and we'll help you. You don't have to do it all alone.

Hi Dionne,

All we can do is stay sober one day at a time. Just for today... don't think past that. It doesn't matter how much sobriety a person has, all that matters is today. If you can take small steps you will cover a lot of ground. Keep it simple.

So true! And, when one day seems like too long -- remember, all we've got is "Right Now!" And, if we stay sober and do what we have to do "right now!" -- we will stay sober long enough for the storms to pass and to begin really enjoying living the good life!
