You never really knew who you would find
If you stepped into my life
Because of my Jekyll and Hyde complex
You didn't know if I would kiss you or bite.
I could change my face on the drop of a dime
It was controlled by my selfish greed
I really didn't care about pleasing you
It was about me and all my needs.
At times I was happy and full of Joy
Whenever I was getting my way
But it wouldn't last long and the clouds would set in
And it would be raining by the end of the day.
Putting on a new face was a constant battle
As I became more and more withdrawn
I decided to throw the nice one away
Since I rarely ever put it on.
What I was left with was a face pain
Filled with anger, resentment, and fear
And it wasn't until that face was scared
That I could listen to the words you would share.
