I hear ya. Mine says, "I'm a horrible person", "he was right", "how could you have screwed something up so bad", "those people taking drugs really know what's up", "it's pointless, if I'm going to be in this much pain, I might as well drink"
The best cures I have found are prayer, meditation, breathing, AA meetings, working with sponsees, making and listening to affirmation tapes, reading from a daily meditation book, and also, something new I am working with, creating an internal boundary, protecting myself from these scary thoughts. All combined, I have woken up the last two mornings with a sense of ease in my chest, something rare for this alcoholic lately.
Blessings and gratitude
