Daily Reflection

Postby Jools » Wed Jan 21, 2009 7:44 am

The member talks to the newcomer not in a spirit of power but in a
spirit of humility and weakness.

As the days pass in A.A., I ask God to guide my thoughts and the words
that I speak. In this labor of continuous participation in the Fellowship,
I have numerous opportunities to speak. So I frequently ask God to
help me watch over my thoughts and my words, that they may be the
true and proper reflections of our program; to focus my aspirations
once again to seek His guidance; to help me be truly kind and loving,
helpful and healing, yet always filled with humility, and free from any
trace of arrogance.

Today I may very well have to deal with disagreeable attitudes or
utterances -- the typical stock-in-trade attitude of the still-suffering
alcoholic. If this should happen, I will take a moment to center myself
in God, so that I will be able to respond from a perspective of
composure, strength and sensibility.

Good morning to you all,

Every morning I pray the third step prayer.

God, I offer myself to Thee
to build with and do with as Thou wilt.

Relieve me of the bondage of self
so I may better do Thy will.

Take away my difficulties
so that victory over them would
bear witness to those I would help
of Thy power, Thy love, and Thy way of life....

May I do YOUR will always.

I also ask that He help me take every thought captive to Him. What I think is what I am and I can think some pretty crazy stuff as you well know. ;)

It seems that I wake up every morning with this feeling of impending doom. Once I take the time to pray and make that conscious contact with God, it all goes away and I feel better inside. I try to pause throughout the day and thank Him for things like my health, my business, my families (the one at home and the one in AA).

Thanx for letting me share.

Hi Jewel!

Thanks for waking up and being here today. I think the sun is shining a little bit brighter - you're good!

God bless
