I hear alot of opinions on when someone who goes back out, whether it be a day or 100 days and the need to share that in meetings in general or to share that at the home group. I would like to get some feed back please.

I never slipped as some might call it. I flat out drank and the main reason was because I first stopped going to meetings, second..I stopped praying. But the MAIN reason I drank again is because I never thoroughly worked the steps.

It's like Dallas posted in the BB study post, I still had the alcoholic mind. I was still full of anger, resentments, fear, and poor me's.

Its sad to say but it happens
one thing I like to do is tell them thanks for doing my drinking for me
I havent slipped either but aa is like a marriage to me so i dont really have much of a choice if i want to stay alive
it is important to us to hear someone who slips no matter how long either way we still need to be reminded while we are in a meeting alchol is in the parking lot doing pushups

One thing to remember is to never look down on someone for that we are just as close to doing it as they did
also keeping an open mind means..............................learning from a newcomer
dog gone it dont tell me a newcomer has something to teach us

I prefer to attend meetings where recovery is shared. If I'm thinking about slipping guess what? I'm not thinking about recovery!

I don't think it's necessary to humiliate an A.A. in the meeting by having them identify to the group that they started drinking again. They are having tough enough time just to come back. Let's not make it harder on them than we would like it to be on ourselves.

Just a thought.
