Staying close to home

Postby Frananne » Sat Sep 15, 2012 4:57 pm

So I have been sober 1 day short of 8 months. I did a lot of group checking out initially and figured out where I felt most at home. Now I am going through hep C treatment and am really, really glad I figured out where my home is. I need a really secure , loving group now as I need to share some really personal stuff and I look awful( rash and fever and raccoon eyes.) just as they support my Sobreity my home group is loving me through this and helping me get out of myself so I can keep practicing the steps effectively. There is so much physical required to do the treatment it is difficult to think of others as much as we alcoholics need to. I am so full of gratitude for my home group.

So I am washing spatulas and coffee cups more as that does not wear me out!

Great post Frananne,

Had some of my best times in AA at my home group. That's the place i go to laugh, cry and totally forget myself by helping the newcomer who comes in looking as lost and bewildered as i was.

Great stuff.
