I heard it in a meeting

I heard the neatest thing in a meeting last night that I would like to share.

A man was talking to his sponsor about a power greater than himself, and how much trouble he was having with it. They were standing by a lake, and his sponsor told him to walk out into the water, and beat it up. Just pound and kick and splash as hard as you can. After that the sponsor told the man to come out of the water back onto the shore and look back at the spot where he was and see what he had changed.

[Dallas]

A Newcomer told an Old-timer "I don't believe in any of this Power Greater than myself business that I can't see!"

The Old-timer said "Really?"

Newcomer, "Yep! That's right!"

Old-timer... "Well follow me over here to the corner of this room."

Newcomer... "Okay, now what?"

Old-timer... "Jump up in the air and just stay there!"

Newcomer, "Yep! That's right!"

Old-timer, "Ever heard of a compass?"

Newcomer... "Of course!"

Old-timer... "Do you know how it works?"

Newcomer... "Sure. The magetized head of the needle always points true north..."

Old-timer "Why does it do that?"

Newcomer... "Magnetic fields."

Old-timer "Have you ever seen a magnetic field?"

Newcomer... "No, but I know it's there."

Old-timer "You know about things like polarity, magnetic fields and how they work... you believe they exist, but, you've never seen them?"

Newcomer... "Of course."

Old-timer "Well... if you're ever lost out in the desert or in a forest... and you have a compass and you know how to use it... it has the ability to get you un-lost.... I hope your unbelief in Powers that you can't see, such as the Magnetic fields, do not prevent you from using the compass to find your way to safety!"



Old-timer "By the way... did you ever play with a magnet when you were a kid?"

Newcomer... "Of course I did!"

Old-timer "Sure... the magnet had the power to pick up things right in front of you!!! Did you ever see the Power in the magnet?"

Newcomer...
