12 Steps Reverse

Here is a slightly modified version of the 12 Steps Reverse, posted somewhere else on the site. At the bottom there is a link (located on this site) to a printable pdf file to print copies if you desire.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Twelve Steps in Reverse

1. I declare my complete control over alcohol and everything else – that
I’m powerless over nothing – and my life is in perfect order

2. I recognize no power as great as me; nor any person as smart as I am,
and if you don’t like it -- come outside

3. I made a decision to run my life and everyone else’s life the way I want
to benefit me – and I pity those who get in my way.

4. I make a searching and thorough inventory of everyone -- other than
myself – finding their faults in all respects, I never hesitate to
tell them of their wrongs.

5. I admitted to no one, including, God and Myself, that there could be
anything wrong with me.

6. I went to extreme efforts to protect and increase my defects of character—
and I did a little drinking, too.

7. I continued my obnoxious arrogant attitude of asking no one for
anything — my Big Mouth was for telling, not asking.

8. I kept a complete list of all persons who had harmed me and swore to
get even – by taking revenge on them all.

9. I took revenge wherever possible, except when to do so might injure me.

10. I continued to bitch and whine about everything to everyone – promptly
reminding them that I am always right and they are always wrong.

11. I sought through scheming and conniving to materially improve myself –
at the expense of my fellow man. I never hesitate to bring disaster and
misery to anyone who gets in my way.

12. Having had a Spiritual Bankruptcy and a complete physical, mental,
moral, and financial breakdown – as a result of these steps – all of my
remaining effort was directed toward dragging those near me - and
dear to me - down to these same depths of despair.

this is along the same lines, but with the Promises:

A TWIST ON "THE PROMISES"

If I am careless about this phase of my development, I will be lost before I am halfway through.

I will know an old familiar imprisonment and sacrifice all true happiness.

I will regret the past and then repeat it, over and over again.

I will have no comprehension of the word serenity and no peace.

No matter how far down the scale I have already gone, I will fall even lower.

That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will return.

I will re-gain interest in selfish things and once again lose interest in my fellows.

Sanity will slip away.

My whole attitude and outlook upon life will change for the worse.

Fear of people and of economic insecurity will consume me.

I will have no idea how to handle any situation and will be baffled as to why.

I will believe that God is doing nothing for me and that I can do everything for myself.

Are these extravagant promises?

WE THINK NOT!!

They will be fulfilled within me, sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly -- but always completely.

They will always materialize if I cease to work this program.
