I read some thing today that made me think.
It was a story about a woman that had a disease.
Her friend asked her what it was like to have the disease. She began explaining the symptoms. The friend stopped her and said I want to know how the disease has effected your life.
After a moment to think, she quickly gathered up as many spoons as she could hold and handed them to her friend. Here, she said now you have the disease. The friend of course looked puzzled.
The woman went on to explain, think of getting up in the morning to get ready for work. What do you do first. For each thing the friend forgot to consider that she would need to do to prepare for the day the woman took away a spoon. Before the friend was even out the door, she was down to 6 spoons and hadn't even started her day.
Of course I was reminded of my own disease. How many times have I tried to hurry or cut corners to get a few extra minutes of sleep only pay dearly at days end because I hadn't done the things I needed to do to have a successful day.
Maybe I should try carrying spoons around. LOL
