The Dallas' Prayer

Dear God,
Now I lay me down to sleep...
I'm going to lay here and just weep...
Please have some of your alkies
Pray for me...
One's that you'll listen to...
more than me!!!

And. Thank you if you heard me.
And, Double thank you, if you get them to do it...
because you know... I REALLY NEED IT! Laughing

Dear God,
Now I lay me down to sleep,
Pray the lord my soul to keep.
If I die before I wake...
God bless
DALLAS......(I wont continue on with my list, im sure no one wants to really know the rest)

I use to have to say this prayer every night before I went to bed. It use to terrify me...what kid wants to think of "if I die before I wake" There were many nights I never went to sleep...for fear I wouldnt wake up!

awww Heather MY Daughter was the same way when we started to say that prayer when she was little ( I think you & she are the same age she is 33) so I changed the words for her so she knew it was ok to go to sleep this was our prayer

now I lay me down to sleep
I pray the LORD my soul to keep
and watch me all thru the night
till I wake up in the mornin light Very Happy

and that was after trying to explain in safe terms what her soul was and why the LORD should keep it ( He was just holding on to it for her until she woke up and then of course he would give it back Laughing )

oh Heather and Dallas thank you sooooo much for bringing up such a beautiful wonderful makes my Heart feel soooo gooood memory of ours (mine and my little girls) and being able to share it with you all
WOW YOU GUYS MADE MY NIGHT I LUV YA (TEARS OF JOY!!!!)

Here's a little prayer that someone here in the forum passed on to me and it works really well! I've tried it, diced it, spliced it, and it works! Laughing

And, this is the prayer I'm praying today:

"God -- bless me big time!!!!"

That seems to offend those who have a mean, grumpy, rigid, no-options God.... and they reply with "ahh man, that's just selfish!" Laughing

If that be the case -- then, maybe God is selfish. God selfish? Sure.

Doesn't God want what's best for us?
Doesn't God want what's best for all His kids?
Doesn't God want us to be happy, joyous and free?
Doesn't God enjoy blessing us with the good things in life?

God seems to enjoy blessing me.

So, rather than reject or be timid in accepting those good gifts from God, that He wants to give to me... I'd rather let Him know that: "I'm with you God! Just pour it on! Make yourself feel really good and just smother me in your loving kindness!!!" Laughing

God --- bless me big time! And, thank you for it, too!

Hey Gunner! It works really really good! Especially if you steal it like I did!!! Laughing Laughing

God has a wonderful sense of humor, too. He loves to laugh!!! He likes to keep it simple and have fun! That's why He wants us to laugh and have fun -- "Live, Love, Laugh, and Learn -- and then Pass it on!" (The ideas conveyed on pages 132-133 Big Book).

Great Spirit who is everywhere and in everything.
All your names are great.
May everything be just as it should be.
Let me hear, see, do and understand exactly what I should just for today.
You take the wheel. I need a break!
Thank You!
