One Day at a Time
One day at a time I will listen
To the calming voice inside
And follow the directions it whispers to me
I am so tired of wanting to hide.
One day at a time I will follow
In the footsteps of members past
Because of their path before me
I can see hope in my life at last.
One day at a time I will be grateful
For the life I have today
A freedom from the disease of alcoholism
And knowing it will be okay.
One day at a time I will practice
The principals in all my affairs
Because of the love you have shown me
I know I will persevere.
One day at a time I will nourish
The relationship I possess
I found a Higher Power that was greater then me
And He's the key to all my success.
One day at time is how I will live
In this new life I have found
Fulfilling every dream I ever had
No longer being gagged and bound.

As good as the life I have received here in AA, my head can find the smallest reason to beat myself up. Today I am facing my defects and learning to pray for the willingness to let them go. Keeping it simple and putting one foot in front of the other.
