Happy sober Monday! Just finishing up my morning prayer and meditaion as I got a late start today. Things are pretty good here in Sugar Land. Looking forward to Thansgiving. I have much to be thankful for this year, my Sobreity, responding well to the treatment I am taking, just life in general filled with good people and all I need.

but that isn't going to happen.

I everyone my name is Wendy and I am an alcoholic. I have read all 46 pages of this thread and I want to thank all of the participants. Thank you for allowing me to share your experience, strength, and hope, you have kept me sober. My sobriety date is 8/11/11 and I am new to this forum and new to reaching out to the online A.A. community. I was spoiled when I first got sober I was not working the first three months so I was able to overload on meetings and up until three months ago I was attending five meetings a week. Now unfortunately that is not the case, I work 90 hours a week and maybe attend one meeting in ten days. I am thankful to have found this forum and the people in it I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Gees. 90 hr weeks! I remember working those kinds of hours.
Sometimes, I still do -- but, I try -- to keep it to less hours.

This forum and interacting w/ the others here has really enhanced my sobriety and my learning.
It would be tough, now, to live w/out it.

Please feel at home and take up as much space here as you'd like.

Thank you all for the welcome. I enjoyed a beautiful day off yesterday and was surprised to end the day with a ring on my finger and wedding bells in the air! I am so blessed to be sober today. I was a nurse for 10 years until my alcoholism began to. destroy everything in my life including my career. Due to my penchant for fighting anyone with a badge while drinking, I don't think I will every be licensed to practice nursing again. I work as a caregiver now, I sit with a 84 and 93 year young ladies. A fellow A.A. member who was also a former nurse helped me acquire these two positions. Oh they have stolen my heart!
I wonder Keith if this may be something your daughter could do. There are some clients that do not need more than someone to sit with them and listen. I thought I would mention it to you.
I hope you all have a good day, it is raining here on the coast of Louisiana and we are expecting more.
