definite moment of clarity.

Postby HollyR » Mon Sep 17, 2007 8:07 pm

so i was 16 when i got sober and my best using friend was also my best friend in the entire world growing up.

i am an alcoholic with a drug use history too and when i got sober she didn't.

we stopped hanging out because i took the advice "change people, places, and things"

when i was about a year sober i got a phone call from my old best friends mom. she was crying and told me that my best friend had died the night before of an overdose.

obiously i was crushed ..but have worked threw the situation.

it was definitly a moment of clarity because i had to realize that could have been me. definitly would have been me if i kept how i was going.

may the God of my understanding rest her soul and please give peace to those who are now going threw what i went threw!.
