Prayer and meditation is an action. It is an act of my free will with the purpose being to develop a closer personal relationship with an invisible Higher Power that is beyond limitations. By being in the presence of this Higher Power, I hope to learn what the virtues are that make up an â€œall-loving Godâ€
Thanks, Paul, for taking the time to write that out. When I participated in Centering Prayer, I was taught that not only does the Sacred Word welcome God, but it also acts as a touchstone any time I find my mind drifting. However, it's not to be used as a repetitive mantra; only called upon when I've noticed that I've drifted off. Is that also your understanding?
