I was at a meeting & the topic was, "What's different now that you're sober?

A woman shared, "Today, i can SEE the sunrise, the rainbow, the flowers and people."

When it was my turn to share, what came out was, "Today, I AM the sunrise, the rainbow, the flowers and people."

I realized that I was everything beautiful & was connected to everyone.
It was strange living this at first. Maybe it's something I need to grow into.
But I noticed everything looked different, like trees & material things, & then it came to me that it was I that was different!

I swear, it's put more of a bounce in my step than that morning cup of coffee!

OOOOOHHHHH, how I love the good stuff !!!!! Yep, you're downright beautiful, Sunlight. And I'm getting kinda ok-er every day! Love them promises!

It's easier to work TOWARD something good than to work AWAY something bad. Perspective. Not enough for me to just be sober. I want to be a better man. That oughta cinch the sober deal. That's what the book says.

I'd been medicating on how good my life is becoming and I wrote a little poym. I posted it in the Poetry section the other day. See if you agree.
