Happy Mothers Day!!!!! Very Happy Very Happy

My son is 14, today is the first Mother’s Day I have been sober in his life. Shocked

I have been doing some reflecting on this today. (We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.)
Today, I woke up sober and my son told me Happy Mother’s Day.
Today, I remember everything I did yesterday.
Today, I don’t have to hold my head in shame for the things I did in the past.
Today, I am there for my son.
Today, I will have dinner on the table for him.
Today, I feel worthy of calling myself a mom.
Today, I feel worthy of his love.
Today, he is my first thought, not myself.
Today, we are both happy.

What a blessing my sobriety is for my son, not to mention the many blessings it is for me. Very Happy Very Happy

I hope all you mothers out there have a wonderful Mother’s Day and take a second to remember (without morbid reflection) what it was like then, what happened, and what its like now.

Debbie

Wow, Debbie, that is powerful! What a great gift you're giving him. My 18 yr old son suffered a lot from my alcoholism. I was dry for 9 years then drank for 2.5 yrs. He's a messed up kid today. I was full of rage, anger, negativity, self pity, etc.

Yeah ... what Jooooly said. WOW! Ain't it wonderful to be a sober mom?!?!?!?!?!?!?! I can only imagine. I'm a sober POPS now! I'm multiplying my gratitude to guess yours.

"The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world."
Thanks for letting your sons think they do. But really, stop that. Very Happy

Did y'all wish God a Happy Mother's day?

(uh oh ... I feel some preachin comin on)

I call Him Father cuz I really need a kind, compassionate, merciful, loving, and rightly disciplining Father. SO unlike the one I had.

But, if God made mankind in His image, He must be bisexual .... no wait ... I mean omni-genderistical ... oh ... both and all. Whatever. Rolling Eyes

From my readings, one of my HP's many names means "The God with many breasts" indicating His nurturing, caring personality.

Men and women are only half of the One.

But only YOUR half was blessed (and cursed) with the ability to carry us into life and nurture us with an incredible care that men can't deliver.

God bless y'all and keep you sober. What a gift for your kids to have a sober mom paying attention to their needs. It's a long, hard road to regain trust. But it's a good work. God bless you bless you bless you and another time and some more.

Love you moms!

PS: Awrite ... a little temperance. My HP has a sense of humor to keep us humble.

"It is better to live in a corner of the attic than in a big house with a brawling woman." (Pv. 25:24) Razz

I feel comfortable with "Father Mother God". That way I can celebrate God's day on every day including Father's and Mother's Day. Laughing

Through Him was my beginning. In Him I have my life, and living and being. And, through Her I have received and receive nurturing and physical support for my journey.

My childhood religious roots were Christian and Native American.

My Grandmother used to talk to me about "Father Mother God... the Heavenly Father and our Earthly Mother."

Me, too, Dallas. No prob with the eclectic nature of God.

I really appreciate the AA attitude that HP must be ones own, best understanding, as if any of us really understand THAT much with our puny brains.

Awrite ... I'm getting too philosifus again.

I'm just sure He loves me way too much. How very mom-like.

Love,
Tim-one
